This was ah action by the Farmers’ Gin Company to recover on a fire insurance policy issued by the Fire Association of Philadelphia. The jury returned a verdict for the plaintiff in the sum of $3,500, upon which judgment was entered, and the insurance company appeals. Many errors are assigned in the petition in error; but all may be considered under the following heads: (1) The trial court erred in refusing defendant a continuance. (2) The verdict of the jury and the judgment of the court are not warranted by the evidence and are contrary to law. (3) The trial court…
