This opinion supersedes the court’s memorandum opinion and order issued in the instant case on June 17,1997.

Plaintiff Joshua Stein filed this putative class action on behalf of himself and others similarly situated against defendant Sprint Communications company 1 (“Sprint”) in the Circuit Court of Cook County on September 9, 1996.
