*438¶1 Following a jury trial in King County Superior Court, Desmond Módica was convicted of one count each of assault in the second degree, assault in the fourth degree, resisting arrest, and tampering with a witness. Módica appeals from the judgments entered on the verdicts, contending that the trial court violated his state and federal constitutional right to assistance of counsel both by granting his motion for self-representation and by denying his subsequent motion for reappointment of counsel.
