DICKSON, Justice.

The defendant, Ronnie G. Miller, was convicted of murder and criminal deviate conduct in the 1995 death of 71-year-old Anna Pennington,2 who was beaten, sexually attacked, and strangled to death in her office where she managed an Indianapolis residence converted into eight apartments.
