Less than one year ago, General Motors LLC (“New GM”) announced the first of what would be become many recalls of its vehicles based on an ignition switch defect. Shortly after the first recall, New GM retained the law firm Jenner & Block LLP (“Jenner”) and its chairperson, Anton Va-lukas, to conduct an internal investigation into the defect and the delays in recalling the affected vehicles.
