GIERKE, Judge:

A general court-martial composed of officer and enlisted members convicted appellant, contrary to his pleas, of attempted murder, assault, and absence without authority, in violation of Articles 80, 128, and 86, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 USC §§ 880, 928, and 886, respectively. The approved sentence provides for a dishonorable discharge, confinement for 10 years, total forfeitures, and reduction to Private E-l.
