These actions are the result of an automobile accident occurring on February 25, 1948, at 3 p. m., on trunk highway No. 53, between Hibbing and Duluth, when an automobile, driven by defendant Margaret Orr, collided head on with an automobile owned by defendant William James McHardy and driven by his wife, defendant Helen McHardy. Defendant Standard Oil Company of Indiana at the time was the owner of a large truck which had been parked on this highway just north of a bridge near where the cars collided. Defendant Alex E.
