On May 21, 2010, Charles M. Lord (“Plaintiff’) filed an action in the Court of Common Pleas for Aiken County, South Carolina, against his former employer, Kimberly-Clark Corporation (“Defendant”). ECF No. 1-1. Plaintiff asserted a claim for breach of employment contract, alleging that Defendant had forced him to retire in retaliation for a complaint he had lodged against his supervisor. Id.
