On March 1, 1917, the defendants Bowers executed unto the defendant Duncan their promissory note in the sum of $15,750, which, according to its terms, became due on the 1st day of March, 1924. To secure the payment of said note, the makers executed unto the payee a real estate mortgage upon certain real estate situated in Union County. Said mortgage was duly filed and recorded in the recorder’s office of said county.
