This is a suit to enjoin the City of Portland from discontinuing water service to plaintiffs and others similarly situated who reside outside of the corporate limits of the defendant municipality but contiguous to it. It is estimated there are between 800 and 1,200 people residing in the district in question. When this suburban tract was first platted it was practically uninhabited, but, as it developed, the city supplied water from its large mains adjacent thereto to various consumers.
