BACKGROUND
The above-captioned actions both allege sex discrimination in the operation of certain retirement annuity plans administered by the Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association (“TIAA”) and the College Retirement Equities Fund (“CREF”). Plaintiff in 74 Civ. 1674(RJW) (hereinafter “the Spirt action”) is Diana L. Spirt, a professor at Long Island University (“LIU”).
