The defendant was charged with embezzlement by agent in violation of General Statutes § 53-355. The information alleges that “between the 20th day of August 1965 and the 30th day of September 1965, at Stamford . . . , the said Maureen D. Moreno, being the agent of Jean Ballin Designs, Inc., did appropriate to her own use or to the use of others the sum of Four Thousand ($4,000) Dollars in the care and custody of the said Maureen D. Moreno as such agent, with intent to defraud the said Jean Ballin Designs, Inc.”
