KEMP, J.

The plaintiff Duke P. Kakanamoku instituted this action for libel against the Advertiser Publishing Company, Limited. The defendant interposed a demurrer to the complaint which was by the circuit court overruled *702and the matter is here on an interlocutory bill of exceptions to the order overruling the demurrer. The essential part of the complaint follows:

“2. That plaintiff above named, Duke P. Kahanamoku, was at all times hereinafter mentioned and now is, a resident of Honolulu aforesaid, a citizen of the United States of America and of the Territory of Hawaii.…
