—Appeal by defendant from a judgment of the Supreme Court, Kings County (Shaw, J.), rendered November 17, 1982, convicting him of manslaughter in the first degree, upon his plea of guilty, and imposing sentence.

Judgment affirmed.

The sole contention raised by defendant, who was 17 years of age at the time of sentencing, is that the court improperly denied him youthful offender status. In view of the violent and brutal nature of defendant’s crime, youthful offender status was denied.
