{¶ 1} Defendant-appellant Willie Hubbard appeals from his conviction in the Jefferson County Common Pleas Court of complicity to commit murder, attempted murder, felonious assault, and aggravated riot. Hubbard raises a number of issues in this appeal. First, this court must determine whether the state had the authority to impeach one of its own witnesses. The second issue is whether Hubbard was denied effective assistance of counsel. The third issue is whether after the mistrial, reprosecution was barred by double jeopardy.
