On November 10, 1913, the city of Chicago filed in the county court of Cook county a petition to condemn lands and to ascertain the compensation to be paid to the owners of such lands for the opening of Fillmore street between Independence boulevard and Central Park avenue, in the city of Chicago, and to assess against the property the amount which it is benefited by the improvement.
