Factual and Procedural Background

A disability policy and a business overhead expense policy issued by Appellee Minnesota Life Insurance Company covered Appellant Kevin Witasick. 1 Those policies were later acquired and administered by Appellee Standard Insurance Company. Witasick made claims against both policies, which were honored by the Appellees. A dispute arose, however, concerning the coverage of some of Witasick’s claimed business expenses.
