The Retirement Board of the Policemen’s Annuity and Benefit Fund of the City of Chicago (Board) appeals from orders of the circuit court which reversed a decision of the Board denying the plaintiff, Maria Kouzoukas, duty disability benefits under section 5 — 154 of the Illinois Pension Code (Code) (40 ILCS 5/5 — 154 (West 2004)) and awarded the plaintiff prejudgment interest. For the reasons that follow, we affirm.
