OPINION

TIM TAFT, Justice.

A jury convicted appellant, Quanell X Abdul Farrakhan, of the misdemeanor offense of “fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer.” See Tex. Transp. Code Ann. § 545.421 (Vernon 1999). The trial court assessed punishment at 180 days in jail, suspended for 180 days of community supervision, and a $300 fine.
