Action to quiet title. On the 1st of May, 1896, G-. W. Wiswell conveyed to plaintiff (appellant) the property in controversy. The consideration recited in the deed was one dollar. The property conveyed consisted of two dwelling houses and a vacant lot in New Whatcom. At the time the deed was executed the grantor, Wiswell, was indebted to the Columbia National Bank of New Whatcom in the sum of $1,400, evidenced by a promissory note executed April 1, 1893, and bearing interest at the rate of one per cent, per month.
