On January 14, 1927, Herbert N. Munhall signed an application for life insurance to the Travelers Insurance Company, of Hartford, Connecticut; in it he named his wife, the plaintiff, as the beneficiary of the policy to be issued. The application was sent in to the company on January 20th, the premium was paid on January 26th, and the applicant died on January 29th. No policy was issued.
