This is not the first (and presumably not the last) chapter in a dispute about the fate of regulations that the Department of Education promulgated in November 2016 to address perceived deficiencies in the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program ("Direct Loan Program"), which allows students who attend participating schools to obtain federal loans.
