Jackie Shanes, as administratrix of the estate of her mother, Allene Shaw Moore, deceased, appeals from a, judgment entered on a directed verdict for Dr. Galen Kiser in Shanes's action against him alleging medical malpractice. This case arose out of the following facts:

On November 2, 1993, 52-year-old Allene Moore visited the emergency room at Medical Center-Shoals Hospital, complaining of "cramping," or "gas pains," in the chest or upper abdomen, "radiating to the back." She reported that she had no history of heart problems and that she had experience these same symptoms some years before.…
