OPINION
MURRAY, Justice.
The United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts has certified four questions of law to this court, pursuant to Rule 6 of the Supreme Court Rules. The relevant facts provided by the District Court are as follows. The plaintiff, Marcia Laird, a Rhode Island resident, filed a complaint in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts seeking damages for injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
