THORNBERRY, Circuit Judge:
The sole issue before this court is whether the appellants’ tort claims were within the district court's admiralty jurisdiction, thus affording the appellants the doctrine of excusable laches and precluding summary dismissal of the claims. We are presented with three cases consolidated for appeal. Plaintiff-appellants Woessner, Gowland, and Eschette instituted these actions in 1982, seeking to recover damages for injuries caused by exposure to asbestos-containing products manufactured and distributed by the appellees.
