The superior court, pursuant to an alternative writ of mandate issued upon the petition of Bruce Macfarlane (sometimes hereinafter, called petitioner), reviewed proceedings theretofore had before respondent Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (hereinafter termed the department) and rendered judgment upholding the findings and conclusions of the department as well as its order revoking an on-sale liquor license held by petitioner and one Faye M.
