— The defendant does not deny liability for the. loss or destruction of the personal baggage of the plaintiff j and of the members of his troupe, but it denies liability for property other than actual personal baggage.
In determining the question presented by this record, it is necessary to understand the nature and extent of the obligation which a carrier of passengers by rail assumes as respects the personal baggage of the passenger.
