OPINION

Robert Steve Turman was convicted of conspiracy, wire fraud, mail fraud and money laundering, all stemming from. his participation in a complex loan fraud scheme. From 1985 to 1988, Turman and his co-conspirators Milton Mende, Samuel Longo and Jackson Stacey operated a number of worthless shell corporations, the front for which was a firm named British Indemnity Group.
