In this criminal appeal, defendant makes two assignments of error. First, defendant assigns error to the trial court’s denial of her motion to suppress evidence that the police obtained after an officer asked defendant to step out of her car, in which she had been travelling as a passenger, and asked her a series of questions about her criminal history. During that conversation, the officer saw a knife protruding from defendant’s pant pocket.
