SPINDEN, Judge.

Benson Lewis appeals the circuit court’s judgment convicting him of two counts of voluntary manslaughter and two counts of armed criminal action. He contends that the circuit court erred in overruling his motion for judgment of acquittal at the close of the evidence and his motion for new trial because the state failed to meet its burden of establishing all the essential elements of voluntary manslaughter.
