SULLIVAN, Judge:

On November 15,1993, appellant was tried by a special court-martial at the United States Naval Legal Service Office, Yokosuka, Japan. In accordance with his pleas, he was found guilty of unauthorized absence (20 days), wrongful appropriation, and fleeing the scene of an accident, in violation of Articles 86, 121, and 134, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 USC §§ 886, 921, and 934, respectively. The military judge sitting alone sentenced him to a bad-conduct discharge, confinement for 60 days, forfeiture of $540.00 pay per month for 2 months, and…
