This case presents the issue whether the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board (the Board) has jurisdiction to determine if a Department of Justice employee is eligible for benefits under Labor Code section 4800. Petitioner, Department of Justice of the State of California, petitioned this court for a writ of review of the Board’s decision to deny reconsideration of its decision finding the Board has such jurisdiction.
