FORD ELLIOTT, J.:

¶ 1 Darrell Elliott and Jean Elliott appeal from the judgment entered on September 23, 2003. We reverse and remand for a limited new trial on damages.

¶2 Appellants brought this action to recover damages for injuries allegedly sustained as a result of a motor vehicle accident on December 20,1998. Prior to trial, the court determined that appellee was negligent as a matter of law; therefore, the only issues before the jury were whether the accident was the proximate cause of appellants’ injuries, and if so, the proper amount of damages.
