After a bench trial in the District Court, a judgment in the amount of $11,370 was entered in favor of the plaintiff. That general finding reflected $2,000 in compensatory *631damages for the defendant’s misrepresentations in the sale of a diamond to the plaintiff. The plaintiff was awarded treble damages and attorney’s fees under G.
