MEMORANDUM OPINION AND ORDER

Plaintiff Harold S. Hemstreet brings this action against defendants Burroughs Corporation and Harris Trust & Savings Bank, for patent infringement. Plaintiff is the owner of United States Patents Nos. 3,713,-099 (’099 patent) and 3,713,100 (’100 patent). Both patents have the same title: “Method and Apparatus For Identifying Letters, Characters, Symbols, and the Like.” The patents deal generally with character recognition.
