HUNTER, Judge.

The City of Winston-Salem (“defendant”) appeals from the Industrial Commission’s (“the Commission”) opinion and award granting Ronald C. Cox (“plaintiff”) temporary total disability benefits. Defendant challenges the Commission’s award of benefits and claims the Commission erred in calculating plaintiff’s average weekly wage. Plaintiff also appeals, challenging the Commission’s decision to grant defendant a credit for the long-term disability retirement benefits paid and to be paid to plaintiff until plaintiff reaches age sixty-five.
