An aerospace manufacturer subcontracted with an engineering company for development of a new in-flight aircraft refueling system. Subject to a confidentiality agreement, the manufacturer revealed trade secrets to the subcontractor in order to facilitate the design of a new device for the system. After the relationship disintegrated, the subcontractor contracted with the United States Air Force to create a similar device.
