DARDEN, Judge:

Pursuant to his plea of guilty, the accused was convicted by a general court-martial at Fort Gordon, Georgia, for absence without leave, in violation of Article 86, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 USC § 886. He was sentenced to a dishonorable discharge, total forfeitures, confinement at hard labor for one year, and reduction to the lowest enlisted grade. In compliance with the terms of a pretrial agreement, the convening authority reduced the period of confinement to eleven *501months.
