Donald Helmich, a citizen of Illinois, commenced this declaratory judgment ac*421tion in the Circuit Court of Rock Island County, Illinois against Northwestern Mutual Insurance ■ Company, a Washington corporation.- The action was removed to the federal district court on the basis of diversity of citizenship pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 1441. In his complaint the plaintiff requested a declaration that under a policy of automobile liability insurance issued by the defendant to the plaintiff’s father, Burnell Helmich, the plaintiff was entitled to a defense of certain actions and…
