Appeal from a judgment of the Supreme Court (Rogers, J.), entered July 1, 2003 in St. Lawrence County, ordering, inter alia, equitable distribution of the parties’ marital property, upon a decision of the court.

The parties to this matrimonial action were married in August 1988 and have one child born in October 1990. Although plaintiff commenced this action in August 1997, the bifurcated divorce trial did not commence until April 1999 when, on several days, Supreme Court heard the custody dispute.
