This is an appeal by defendants from a final judgment in favor of plaintiff in an action instituted by plaintiff to recover the reasonable value of certain services alleged to have been rendered by him as an attorney. The judgment was for the sum of $10,000 and costs, and the same was ordered by the court to be paid out of funds in the possession of appellant Carpénter, the Insurance Commissioner of the State of California, as conservator of the Great Republic Life Insurance Company, the corporation named as one of appellants herein.
