OPINION OF THE COURT

CAREY, Chief Judge.

A general court-martial composed of officer and enlisted members convicted appellant, contrary to his pleas,1 of rape, forcible sodomy, assault consummated by battery, burglary, kidnapping, and solicitation of another to assist in escape from pretrial confinement (two specifications), in violation of Articles 120, 125, 128, 129, and 134, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 U.S.C. §§ 920, 925, 928, 929, and 934 [hereinafter UCMJ].
