SUMMERS, Justice.

Jeff and Suzanne Hall sued in small claims court to recover funds invested in unsuccessful oil and gas drilling ventures. After removal to the district court they amended their petition to allege that Defendant Jackson, as a “Certified Public Accountant who was the accountant for these Drilling Ventures and who had professional and confidential knowledge of the financial situation of each,” had committed fraud against them by verbally misrepresenting drilling ventures as good investments when he knew or should have known of the falsity of the statements, and that the Halls…
