Plaintiff appeals from an order of the trial court dismissing his complaint for failure to state a cause of action. Plaintiff, a builder, seeks to recover compensation for labor and materials expended in improving the defendant’s residence. The trial court dismissed plaintiff’s action, because he was not registered with the Builders Board at the time he entered into the contract to perform the work for the defendant.
