This is an original proceeding in mandamus to compel the defendant County Judge of Jackson County to issue a proclamation declaring an initiative measure to move the county seat from Jacksonville to Medford to be in full force and effect as a result of the vote cast at the general election in November, 1926. In Briggs v. Stevens (Or.), 248 Pac. 169, a peremptory writ was issued directing the county clerk to accept and file the initiative petition and to proceed in manner prescribed by statute relative to submission of county seat question to vote of the people.
