The defendant appeals from the judgment of conviction, rendered after a jury trial, of assault in the third degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-61 (a) (1)1 and unlawful restraint in the first degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-95 (a).2 The jury found the defendant not guilty of criminal possession of a pistol or revolver.
