Defendant was found guilty by a district court jury of two counts of kidnapping and one count of aggravated assault and was sentenced by the trial court on one of the kidnapping convictions to a maximum prison term of 40 years. Issues raised by defendant on this combined appeal from judgment of conviction and from the order denying him a postconviction hearing are: (1) whether the evidence of defendant’s guilt was legally insufficient, (2) whether the trial court erred in permitting the prosecutor to cross-examine one of the state’s witnesses, (3) whether the trial court erred in excluding…
