This appeal arises from the trial court’s dismissal of the amended complaint of plaintiff Steve Verchinski, d/b/a Solar Electric Company of New Mexico (Verchinski), against defendants Richard and Jane Klein (Kleins) for damages from a breach of contract and for foreclosure of a materialmen’s lien. Kleins filed an answer affirmatively pleading that Verchinski was barred from recovering under the contract and under the materialmen’s lien because he did not have a contractor’s license as required under the provisions of the New Mexico Construction Industries Licensing…
