The defendant, Mark Allen, was charged with the crimes of felony murder in violation of General Statutes § 53a-54c, burglary in the first degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-101 (a) (2), and robbery in the first degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-134 (a) (l).1 After a jury trial, the defendant *369was found guilty of all charges, and on May 19, 1989, was sentenced to a total effective sentence of forty years. He appeals the judgment of conviction.
