This is an action for medical malpractice. Plaintiff alleged that defendants, physicians and surgeons, 1 were negligent in their treatment of him. Specifically, plaintiff alleged that defendants failed to exercise the necessary degree of skill and care during an operation to remove a herniated disc from his upper spine and that as a result he suffered paralysis in his arms and hands. The case was tried to a jury and a verdict was returned for defendants.
